Glasgow-based Dr Cowden, is currently a consultant epidemiologist at Health Protection Scotland where he is head of the Gastrointestinal Disease and Zoonoses Programme.
He holds a number of academic positions including Honorary Clinical Senior Lecturer at the Universities of Glasgow and Aberdeen, and is the author of over fifty peer reviewed papers on food-borne and other infectious intestinal disease.
