Notes for editors
SFAC was established in 2000 to provide independent advice and information on a variety of topics such as food safety and standards to the FSA in Scotland. The Committee consists of 11 members who provide a wide base of knowledge on food-related issues. Its Chair, Professor Graeme Millar CBE, is also a member of the FSA Board. Professor Brian Ratcliffe and Dr David Cameron have been reappointed to the Committee for two years, starting on 15 March 2007.
The FSA is an independent UK wide government department set up as a food safety watchdog to protect the publics health and consumer interests in relation to food.
