Scottish team makes net gain
The Scottish Netball Team is hoping to be on the ball at the World Championship Qualifiers in Belfast with the help of Food Standards Agency Scotland.
The team proudly wore their new strips, sponsored by the Agency, over the weekend of June 10 and 11 as they played final practice matches in Glasgow before jetting off to Belfast on June 15.
The 2007 Netball World Championships are to be held in Suva, Fiji, where 16 nations will be competing over 11 days.
George Paterson, Director, FSA Scotland said: 'We wish the Scottish team all the best of luck for the qualifiers as they head off to compete in Northern Ireland.
'It's very apt, given that the agency is the team sponsor, that their matches take place to co-incide with National Food Safety Week on June 12-18, which is now in its 14th year and aims to highlight the importance of food safety and the basic principles of food hygiene.'
Lesley MacDonald, Captain of the Scottish Netball Team said: 'We are very proud to be affiliated with an agency that promotes healthy choices and living well.
'The team has worked very hard in the build up for Belfast and will now do their part to ensure Scotland is represented on the world stage in Fiji next year.'
