Today, the FSA is proud to reach a milestone and celebrate the success of our employee advocacy initiative, FSA Voices. In just over 6 months, a quarter of our entire workforce have signed up and shared over 8,000 messages on social media about the work we do.

NFCU carries out operation targeting illegal sale of DNP

The National Food Crime Unit (NFCU) and Ards and North Down Borough Council today executed search warrants at two premises in Bangor, County Down in Northern Ireland as part of a proactive criminal investigation targeting the illegal sale of 2,4 dinitrophenol (commonly known as DNP). The Police Service of Northern Ireland was also in attendance.

FSA pushes big data research to the top of the agenda

The Food Standards Agency (FSA) has announced that it will fund a research fellow in Data Science and Food at University College London (UCL). The fellowship is the first significant investment in data science across any governmental body.

Feeding the World International Ltd trading as Get Stuffed is recalling a variety of its Delicious Indian Cuisine on the Go products because their shelf-lives have been extended and so they could potentially pose a risk to human health. The affected products should also display a ‘use by’ date on the label rather than a ‘best before’ date.

New appointment to the FSA Board

10 August 2016
The Food Standards Agency has announced the appointment of Colm McKenna to the FSA Board as Board member for Northern Ireland and Chair of the Northern Ireland Food Advisory Committee. Colm will serve an initial three year term ending in 2019.
