Rosie has a particular interest in promoting consumer knowledge and safety in relation to food and health, alongside supporting high-quality research and effective regulation.

She is currently a Commissioner, Civil Service Commission; Council Member, General Optical Council; and Chair of a Research Ethics Committee (Health Research Authority).

She has further board experience including positions as a Non-Executive Director, Public Health England (2014-17), Human Tissue Authority (2010-16) and at a NHS Primary Care Trust (2004-2012). She was an External Reviewer for the Clwyd-Hart Review of NHS Complaints Handling (2013).

Between 2003-2016 she held roles at the Food Standards Agency including as the Consumer Member, Advisory Committee on Microbiological Safety of Food, Consumer Advisory Panel, and on the Antimicrobial Resistance, Campylobacter and Eggs Working Groups, and was the Consumer Member, Committee on Carcinogenicity of Chemicals in Food and Consumer Products.

Previously she worked in the publishing sector in sales and marketing roles in the UK and Africa/Asia (Macmillan, Oxford University Press, News International) and was Commercial Director, Dr Foster Ltd. She is a trustee of Book Aid International and has a degree in chemistry.
