Sainsbury’s recalls in store bakery all butter croissant due to undeclared almonds

Sainsbury’s is recalling in store bakery all butter croissants because they contain almond filling which is not declared on the packaging. This means the product is a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy to nuts.

Action taken by the company

Sainsbury’s is recalling the above products from customers and has contacted the relevant allergy support organisations, which will tell their members about the recall. The company has also issued a point-of-sale notice to its customers. These notices explain to customers why the products are being recalled and tell them what to do if they have bought the products. Please see the attached notice.

Our advice to consumers

If you have bought the above product and have an allergy to nuts, do not eat it. Instead return it to the store from where it was bought for a full refund.
