Food Information for Consumers Regulations 2014: Guidance

The Food Standards Agency (FSA) has produced guidance to provide informal, non-binding advice on the legal requirements of the EU Regulation No. 1169/2011 (EU FIC) and Commission Implementing Regulation EU No. 1337/2014 and the relevant domestic legislation.

This guidance covers the provisions of the Food Information for Consumers Regulation EU No. 1169/2011 and the Food Information Regulations 2014 for food busineess operators and enforcement officers in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland

The Country of Origin provision of EU FIC

EU FIC required the Commission to produce implementing Regulations to produce regulation covering the Country of Origin for fresh, chilled, frozen meat of sheep, pigs, goats and poultry. Implementing Regulation 1337/2013 lays down the rules for this requirement.
