Advisory Committee on Dangerous Pathogens (ACDP)

An Advisory Committee on Dangerous Pathogens (ACDP) TSE risk assessment subgroup has been established to provide independent expert advice in this area to the FSA and other departments, following the abolition of the Spongiform Encephalopathy Advisory Committee (SEAC) on 30 March 2011.

Terms of references

'To provide ACDP as requested with scientifically based assessment of risk from transmissible spongiform encephalopathies (TSEs) in relation to food safety, public and animal health issues, taking appropriate account of scientific uncertainty and assumptions in formulating advice.'
