Project details B12
18 April 2004
Details of Agency-funded projects under the Microbial Risk Assessment research programme (B12).
Under the auspices of Directive 2003/99/EC on the monitoring of zoonoses and zoonotic agents, EU member states were required to assess the prevalence of Listeria monocytogenes in a range of ready-to-eat (RTE) foods. The UK analysed 1,600 samples during the period 1 November 2010 until 31 October 2011.
This project investigated the survivability of Mycobacterium bovis and relevant Verocytotoxin-producing E.coli serotypes, such as O157:H7, through the manufacture of raw milk cheeses which are made in the UK.
