FSA e-News offers an early Xmas cracker

The latest issue of FSA e-News, which is available online, includes some cracking pre-Christmas advice on how local authorities can promote the food hygiene rating scheme during the festive season.

The Agency’s FHRS toolkit will help local authorities encourage people to ‘look before they book’ by checking food hygiene ratings online or on their mobile phones. Advice is also available for local authorities that are just making a first foray into using social media.

In addition, the Agency is encouraging small businesses to complete a European Commission questionnaire on how food safety regulations in Europe might be smartened up. You can find a direct link to the questionnaire in this month’s issue.

The October newsletter also includes news from the nations and details of a speech made by Professor Sarah O’Brien on how molecular microbiology could speed up identification of the source of food poisoning outbreaks.
