Lindsay has over 40 years’ experience working across the food and agricultural sector, including 32 years in local government and the wider public sector as a Food Standards Officer. She began her career in food product development within the food industry before moving into enforcement roles with Gwent County Council and later the Food Standards Agency, where she also worked as a food and feed auditor. She subsequently returned to local government, leading food, feed and animal health enforcement services for Newport City Council.

Lindsay’s professional background is in food and feed regulation. She is a qualified Trading Standards Officer specialising in food and feed legislation, holds an MSc in Food Science and Technology, and is a Fellow of the Institute of Food Science and Technology. During her career, she has worked closely with the Food Standards Agency ,the Welsh Government, DEFRA on a range of food standards, feed safety and animal health matters, as well as with auditing organisations including the RSPCA and FAWL.

Lindsay previously chaired the All-Wales Feed Officer Group, where she played a key role in developing Wales’s first regional working model for animal feed enforcement. She has represented Wales on the UK National Agriculture Panel and the UK National Agricultural Ports Panel and has worked extensively with the Welsh food and drink sector, supporting compliance and high standards across businesses ranging from small producers to multinational companies.
