Profile
Timothy Riley FRASE is a farmer and land owner in West Yorkshire and is an advocate for regenerative food production through agriculture. He has served as President to the UK Beef Shorthorn Cattle Society, was Non Executive Director of the Veterinary Medicines Directorate for three years and was on the DEFRA Farm Animal Genetics Resources Advisory Committee for ten years.
He holds Board Directorships for Better2Know Limited (Internet based health testing) and for Wellstate HTA Limited, a Health Technology and Economics Consultancy.
Following Post Doctoral Fellowships in Cambridge and London, Timothy worked on the AIDS Programme at the MRC before serving as a Senior Civil Servant in the Department of Health. He led the UK Government policy and establishment of the National Institute for Clinical Excellence (NICE) for the UK, was Head of NHS Public Health policy, and led policy development for the UK National Screening Committee amongst other health policy and service initiatives. Timothy was Chief Executive to three NHS Primary Care Trusts, a Member of the UK Secretary of State of Health’s Sounding Board and served on the Prime Minister’s Futures Forum (co-authoring the Forum’s report, “The NHS Role in Public Health”).
