NIFAC date 31.01.2024

Executive Summary

Regulated Products

The theme of this meeting is Regulated Products. The meeting will be held at the FSA offices in Belfast. To set the context, the Committee will receive a presentation from FSA NI colleagues who will outline what Regulated Products are and the current authorisation processes across the UK. The Committee will then hear from the FSA’s Deputy Director of Regulatory Services and the Head of Food Policy who will deliver a presentation on the wider FSA Regulated Products reform programme.

The Committee will then hear from a representative from The Institute of Food Science and Technology (IFST). Following the presentations there will be an opportunity for the Committee to discuss the theme in more detail, allowing NIFAC members to ask questions to help inform the Committee’s advice and information to the FSA on this topic.

There will also be a session where members can feed back on any recent stakeholder engagement and consider NIFAC forward look plans.
