Privacy notice - exception reports for FSA approved assurance schemes
The Food Standards Agency is what is known as the ‘Controller’ of the personal data provided to us.
Purpose and law basis of processing
The personal information we hold about you consists of the name and address of your business. The Food Standards Agency obtains this information from your local authority.
We need to collect this information for the purpose of receiving information on local authority inspections of members of the FSA approved assurance schemes where significant non-conformances have been identified. These details are then shared with the relevant FSA approved assurance scheme of which your business is a member. We will not collect any personal data which we do not need.
We do this in line with the exercise of official authority vested in us under the Food Standards Act and the performance of a task carried out in the public interest.
How and where we store your data and who we may share it with
We retain personal information only for as long as necessary to carry out these functions, and in line with our retention policy. Contact details will be held for 6 years from receipt.
