Iceland Foods recalls Iceland Takeaway Pilau Rice because of undeclared allergens

Iceland Foods is recalling Iceland Takeaway Pilau Rice because it contains egg, sesame, soya and wheat, which are not mentioned on the label. The product has been incorrectly packed with egg fried rice. This means the product is a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy or intolerance to egg and/or wheat (gluten) and/or an allergy to sesame and/or soya.

This product contains egg, sesame, soya and wheat making it a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy or intolerance to egg and/or wheat (gluten) and/or an allergy to sesame and/or soya.

Action taken by the company

Iceland Foods Ltd is recalling the above product from customers and has contacted the relevant allergy support organisations, which will tell their members about the recall. The company has also issued a point-of-sale notice to its customers. These notices explain to customers why the product is being recalled and tell them what to do if they have bought the product. Please see the attached notice.

Our advice to consumers

If you have bought the above product and have an allergy or intolerance to egg and/or wheat (gluten) and/or an allergy to sesame and/or soya do not eat it. About allergy alerts

Sometimes there will be a problem with a food product that means it should not be sold.
