FSA Board Meetings

We are a non-Ministerial government department so we are governed by a Board, rather than directly by Ministers.

Our Board is chaired by Professor Susan Jebb and has up to 12 members. They are responsible for the overall strategic direction of our organisation.

As transparency is a guiding principle for the Food Standards Agency and key to maintaining public confidence, you are able to watch our board meetings.

The next FSA Board Meeting is on 10 December 2025.

Register for FSA Board Meetings

The FSA Board holds its meetings in public and publishes meeting agendas, papers and decisions.

You can view meetings in person or online to see the Board's discussions about our policies.

You need to register to view online or attend a Board meeting in person.

Submit a question to the FSA Board

The questions form is currently closed, and will reopen when the board papers are published for the December 2025 meeting.

We are keen to ensure, as far as is practical, that questions are addressed in the discussion at the Board meeting. Notwithstanding discussions on the day, all questions will receive a written reply within 20 working days of the meeting.

The FSA Board appointed an Audit and Risk Assurance Committee and Business Committee to exercise some of its responsibilities and to advise it on others.

WFAC: Welsh Food Advisory Committee

The Welsh Food Advisory Committee acts as an independent advisory body to the Food Standards Agency. It is chaired by the Wales Board member. Its role is to advise the Agency on food and feed safety and standards issues, with an emphasis on Wales.

NIFAC: Northern Ireland Food Advisory Committee

The Northern Ireland Food Advisory Committee acts as an independent advisory body to the Food Standards Agency. It is chaired by the Northern Ireland Board member. Its role is to advise the Agency on food safety and standards issues, with emphasis onto Northern Ireland.
