FSA Board meeting rescheduled following period of National mourning
The FSA’s September Board meeting, postponed following the death of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II last week, will now take place as follows:
- FSA Business Committee Meeting on Friday 23 September between 14:00 – 16:50hrs
- FSA Board Meeting on Monday 26 September between 09:00 – 12:30hrs
Both meetings will be held online only, to join please register via this link:
Questions on papers being discussed at the Board meeting on Monday 26 September will be accepted until noon on Friday 23 September by emailing Board.Sec@food.gov.uk.

Emily Miles presents the Chief Executive's report to the FSA Board.
09:50 - The Genetic Technology (Precision Breeding) Bill (FSA 22/09/04)
Rebecca Sudworth and Peter Quigley introduce a paper giving an update on progress of the UK Government’s Genetic Technology (Precision Breeding) Bill and discusses the FSA’s approach to developing an appropriate and proportionate regulatory framework for products produced in England, using precision breeding techniques.

Katie Pettifer and Carmel Lynskey introduce a paper providing a comprehensive annual update on the Achieving Business Compliance (ABC) Programme. There are some specific issues on which we would like Board input and endorsement, and we would also welcome overall comments on the programme.

Rick Mumford, David Franklin, and Matthew Harriman-Brady introduce a paper providing a recommended approach to build GB testing capability and resolve the current challenges within the system.
11:15 - Food Hypersensitivity Programme: Outline Plans for Phase Two (FSA 22/09/07)
Rebecca Sudworth and Sushma Acharya introduce a paper setting out the priorities, key activities, and proposed timetable for phase two of the FHS programme (September 2022 to April 2024), taking into account feedback from the Board.

Julie Pierce introduces a paper providing an update on the progress of Food Standards Agency (FSA) in Wales in delivering its programme of work since the last report to the Board in September 2021; giving an overview of the contribution to work of the wider FSA; and presenting the FSA in Wales' proposed priorities for the coming year.
